Fifth Annual Senior Athlete Awards Banquet Honors Athletes, Coaches, and Accomplishments of St. John Fisher Athletic Programs On and Off the Field

Jeff Taylor, President of Rochester’s leading site construction expert Monroe Roadways, has always gone beyond the typical commitment to his local community. This past Tuesday, Jeff was able to honor St. John Fisher College student athletes with a similar commitment, as he presented the Community Champion Award to Abbie Reed at the Fifth Annual Senior Athlete Awards Banquet held at Woodcliff Hotel and Spa.

“This award honors student athletes who have been involved in community service throughout their time at Fisher,” says Monroe Roadways President, Jeff Taylor. “It takes a special person to give for the sake of giving. Abbie has done just that, while still maintaining academic and athletic excellence.”

Whether volunteering her time to coordinate various activities for Special Olympics, mentoring students in the Rochester City School District, or participating in a before school program to teach young children the importance of physical activity and nutrition, Abbie has a true passion for putting others first. During her time at Fisher, she has been involved with the March of Dimes, Ronald McDonald House, Reebok, and an active member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Furthermore, Abbie has been a four-year member of the women’s lacrosse team where she was named All-Conference as a junior.
