Monroe Roadways, Rochester’s leading site construction expert, has been awarded the contract for site construction services of the new Ronald Rettner Hall for Media Arts and Innovation, located in the Wilson Quadrangle on the University of Rochester River Campus in Rochester, NY. Monroe partnered with Rochester-based Bergmann Associates and Boston-based Goody Clancy for engineering and planning services on the three-story, 18,900 square-foot facility. Work began earlier this summer, with a completion date slated for fall of 2013.

“Monroe Roadways is proud to be involved in this state-of-the-art project for one of the nation’s leading private universities,” said Monroe Roadways President, Jeff Taylor. “Rettner Hall will provide students with a location focusing on the utmost importance of hands-on and collaborative student learning.”

Rettner Hall, named for new University Trustee and Philanthropist Ronald Rettner, encourages the use of interactive work with flexible space on each floor overlooking the level below. The facility will feature an engineering fabrication lab, a multipurpose learning studio, group study areas, and exhibit space. The advanced facility also will contain sound and video recording studios, high-end computers, and 3-D printers.
