Local Site Contractor Will Perform All Site Construction for Arena

Monroe Roadways, Rochester’s leading site construction expert, was recently awarded the contract for site construction services of the new 150,000-square-foot, 4,150-seat arena on the south side of the RIT campus. Monroe partnered with Rochester-based LeChase Construction Services to build the new athletic venue and multi-purpose facility. Construction is underway with an opening anticipated for the Division I men’s and women’s hockey team’s 2014-2015 seasons.

“Monroe Roadways is excited to be a part of yet another significant project at the Rochester Institute of Technology,” said Monroe Roadways President, Jeff Taylor. “The new arena will be an exceptional venue for both the campus and Rochester community as a whole.”

The Gene Polisseni Center looks to become LEED® certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, and will provide modern amenities for a growing number of Tiger fans supporting the successful Division I program. The Tiger’s current home–The Frank Ritter Arena –will continue to operate as a training and recreational venue.
