MONROE ROADWAYS AWARDED CONTRACT FOR ST. JOHN FISHER COLLEGE UPPER QUAD RESIDENCE HALL

Local Site Contractor Will Address All Site Construction for New Student Housing

Monroe Roadways was recently awarded the contract for all related site work, utilities and paving for new construction of the Upper Quad Residence Hall, located adjacent to Keogh and Kearney Hall, on the St. John Fisher College campus in the Town of Pittsford, NY. Work is currently underway, with completion expected by August of 2019.

Located in the heart of the campus, the Upper Quad Residence Hall will house approximately 150 undergraduate students annually, addressing student demand for on-campus living space. The 47,700 square foot building will include 80 bedrooms, four quiet study spaces, and social, learning, and recreational common areas across three floors. The building will also feature a kitchen, as well as laundry and recycling facilities on each floor.

Local Site Contractor Breaks Ground for New Mixed-Income Housing Project

Monroe Roadways was recently awarded the site contract to provide site clearing and demolition, earthwork, foundation excavations, utility construction, concrete curbs and sidewalks, and asphalt paving for new construction of The Eastman Reserve. Monroe Roadways is working in conjunction with local affordable housing developer PathStone Corporation on the 17-building development located along the western portion of Eastman Avenue in the City of Rochester, a former parking lot at the neighboring Eastman Business Park. Work is currently underway, with completion by spring of 2020.

“Monroe looks forward to continuing our relationship with PathStone during this community renewal housing project,” said Monroe Roadways President, Jeff Taylor. “This significant investment will provide indispensable high quality affordable homes for City of Rochester residents.”

The $52.9 million project will include 187 rental units, with 27 to be filled by homeless young adults who will have access to on-site support services. The development is part of New York’s Homes and Community Renewal initiative. Rental units will be available for residents who earn between 60 percent and 130 percent of the area median income.
