Local Site Contractor Will Be Responsible For Site Work and Utility Coordination for New Building with National Retailer

Monroe Roadways, Rochester’s leading site construction expert, was recently awarded a contract to provide site work and utility coordination for new construction of a national retailer, as part of College Town Rochester, on the corner of Mount Hope Avenue and Crittenden Blvd. Monroe is continuing their partnership with CT Rochester, involving Fairmount Properties and Gilbane Development. Project completion expected in summer of 2016.

“Monroe Roadways is excited to continue our involvement with this significant project for the city and region as a whole,” said Monroe Roadways President, Jeff Taylor. “Serving as a gateway to the University of Rochester’s Medical Center, College Town has already enhanced the quality of life for both the Mt. Hope neighborhood community, and the University of Rochester.”

Monroe Roadways was the original contract recipient for site construction services of the new 500,000-square-foot mixed-use development at the intersection of Mt. Hope and Elmwood Avenues. Monroe prepared the site for six buildings overall, which featured the following: a five-story, 1,560-space parking garage; a five-story, 150-room Hilton Garden Inn and Conference Center; a 20,000-square-foot, two-story Barnes & Noble bookstore; a 20,000-square-foot supermarket; in addition to over 73,000-square-feet of street-level shops and restaurants, 50,000-square-feet of office space, and 154,000-square-feet of rental residential space. Monroe self-performed all work, including earthwork, grading, utilities, concrete, and asphalt paving.
