MONROE ROADWAYS PROVIDING SITE COORDINATION FOR NEW COLLEGE TOWN ROCHESTER BUILDING

Local Site Contractor Will Be Responsible For Site Work and Utility Coordination for New Building with National Retailer

Monroe Roadways, Rochester’s leading site construction expert, was recently awarded a contract to provide site work and utility coordination for new construction of a national retailer, as part of College Town Rochester, on the corner of Mount Hope Avenue and Crittenden Blvd. Monroe is continuing their partnership with CT Rochester, involving Fairmount Properties and Gilbane Development. Project completion expected in summer of 2016.

“Monroe Roadways is excited to continue our involvement with this significant project for the city and region as a whole,” said Monroe Roadways President, Jeff Taylor. “Serving as a gateway to the University of Rochester’s Medical Center, College Town has already enhanced the quality of life for both the Mt. Hope neighborhood community, and the University of Rochester.”

Monroe Roadways was the original contract recipient for site construction services of the new 500,000-square-foot mixed-use development at the intersection of Mt. Hope and Elmwood Avenues. Monroe prepared the site for six buildings overall, which featured the following: a five-story, 1,560-space parking garage; a five-story, 150-room Hilton Garden Inn and Conference Center; a 20,000-square-foot, two-story Barnes & Noble bookstore; a 20,000-square-foot supermarket; in addition to over 73,000-square-feet of street-level shops and restaurants, 50,000-square-feet of office space, and 154,000-square-feet of rental residential space. Monroe self-performed all work, including earthwork, grading, utilities, concrete, and asphalt paving.

MONROE ROADWAYS AWARDED CONTRACT FOR ST. JOHN FISHER PARKING LOT RECONSTRUCTION

Monroe Roadways, Rochester’s leading site construction expert, was recently awarded the contract for reconstruction of J Lot on the St. John Fisher College campus in the Town of Pittsford, NY. Improvements to the existing lot, adjacent to Growney Stadium include: new storm drainage, pavement, site lighting, sidewalks, and landscaping. Work is currently underway, with completion expected by early July, prior to the start of Buffalo Bills Training Camp.

Work is underway for Monroe Roadways, Rochester’s leading site construction expert, who was awarded the contract for site and volunteer preparation of the Miracle Field, located at Ridge Park in the Town of Webster. Work includes a new softball field, clearing and demolition, new parking areas, and rough site grading for the wheelchair accessible complex. Work is currently underway, with completion of the entire development expected by spring, 2017.

Challenger Miracle Field, specifically designed for individuals with physical and/or cognitive challenges, will be made with a rubberized surface that is fully wheelchair accessible. Bases and pitching mounds are painted onto the surface so that there are no raised obstacles and the dugouts are enlarged to accommodate wheelchairs and other apparatus. The Play with Possibilities Playground – the only one of its kind in Monroe County – will allow typically developing children to play alongside those with disabilities with full accessibility and sensory benefits to create a truly inclusive, ADA-approved play space. Fifth Annual Senior Athlete Awards Banquet Honors Athletes, Coaches, and Accomplishments of St. John Fisher Athletic Programs On and Off the Field

Jeff Taylor, President of Rochester’s leading site construction expert Monroe Roadways, has always gone beyond the typical commitment to his local community. This past Tuesday, Jeff was able to honor St. John Fisher College student athletes with a similar commitment, as he presented the Community Champion Award to Abbie Reed at the Fifth Annual Senior Athlete Awards Banquet held at Woodcliff Hotel and Spa.

“This award honors student athletes who have been involved in community service throughout their time at Fisher,” says Monroe Roadways President, Jeff Taylor. “It takes a special person to give for the sake of giving. Abbie has done just that, while still maintaining academic and athletic excellence.”

Whether volunteering her time to coordinate various activities for Special Olympics, mentoring students in the Rochester City School District, or participating in a before school program to teach young children the importance of physical activity and nutrition, Abbie has a true passion for putting others first. During her time at Fisher, she has been involved with the March of Dimes, Ronald McDonald House, Reebok, and an active member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Furthermore, Abbie has been a four-year member of the women’s lacrosse team where she was named All-Conference as a junior.
